Sherman Free Library Minutes from Board Meeting held on Thursday August 22nd, 2024

In Attendance: Sue Nephew, Kris Jarrett, Betty LaMoria, Janelle Jurkiewicz, Gail Baker, Staley Rich, Tara Orr, Melissa Collins

Meeting started at 4:01pm

Minutes from the last meeting in February were looked over. Staley made a motion to accept, Sue seconded, all in favor. 

Kris gave an overview of the Director’s Report. (See Attached)

Sexual Harassment Training Event- possibly in October 

Champ Day 2025 Discussion-

Looking to expanding the coloring contest to cover age brackets

Hula Hooping- Sue met a woman who may be interested in coming to do a event at the library or may be in conjunction with Champ Day

Fishing activity

Basket Raffle- Labor Day Weekend

Thursday 8/29- Sunday 9/1

Discussed volunteers for ticket sales and creating signs to promote the sale

Book Sale- Saturday 8/31 

New Business:

Kris is still searching for a CPA for a 990 tax form which is believed to be due in May

Melissa said the financials were looking good. Plan is to get QuickBooks situated, then look into moving funds.

Next meeting is Thursday, October 24th at 4:00

Gail made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Janelle seconded and all were in favor.

Meeting was adjourned at 5:02.
